Gotta love a challenge
To start this off, you'll need to know what a challenge coin is. So, go to Wikipedia and enjoy this article: Challenge Coin

Great! Now that you're back, aren't challenge coins cool? It turns out that I knew what they were, just not... well, what they were. I remember my dad having some and playing with them as a kid (yes, Toby, before he cheated on my mom. I do remember).
It turns out that not only are challenge coins a military tradition, they're also a police department tradition, and ours decided to jump onto the bandwagon. So, at staff meeting last week, they were looking for someone to work out some designs, and I volunteered. So over the weekend, I worked out 2 designs (1 with 2 variations, so I guess a total of 3). The requirements were few - it would have our badge logo in the center, our value statements around the side, and it had to look nice.
I brought in my ideas today, and the one below was picked to go to the company that makes them for a quote. It's be awesome if it actually gets produced! The back side of the coin has already been decided - it will be Colorado's state seal. I didn't need to make an image for that since the company making the coin has made some other coins with the state seal (including the sample coin we were sent).

Good. That was my first choice too.
Oh, and remember when your dad cheated on.... Oh. You already covered that. Damn.
